if you give 3/4 cup a day that equals 6oz. So it would be 2 servings depending on their recommendations. My cat gets 3/4 cup of SO Royal canine a day. Maybe less since it is freeze dried.
So if my 17 lb cat needs 1 1/4cup food per day, this would be one bag per day? So roughly $60 per day? It seems that it would be MUCH cheaper to prepare yourself!!!

It is sad that Dr. Marty’s cat food is a marketing scam and people who don’t know any better fall for it. “Grain Free” gets a good buyer response but you guys just swapped grains for peas, pea flour, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and tapioca (think of the pudding!). These ingredients are no more “natural” or healthy for your cat than grains!

Cats are obligate carnivores. This means they must have meat to survive, unlike the omnivorous dog, who can survive on a wider variety of food.
Because cats lack essential enzymes and amino acids, they simply don’t have the capacity to digest other food sources, like vegetable matter or fruit.
The ad states “Dr. Marty Nature’s Feast is designed to mimic what your cat would eat in the wild.”
Ive never seen cats in the wild go berry picking, or hunt apples, or any fruit or vegetable garden. Ive never seen them stalk sweet potatoes or any of the other carb ingredients in this food.
The only reason this food is slightly better than dry kibble is because there is no meat by-products, corn, gluten or wheat and its not cooked at high temperatures.
I have yet to see where the meat comes from. USA? China? How is it rendered?
This site gets paid to promote this and other pet foods regardless of what the actual ingredients are. Pretty sad that these companies prey on pet owners who just want and think they are giving the best foods for their fur babies when in reality, health issues and an earlier death will still eventually befall their kitties.

Thank you for your comment, I am doing my research on this product and you bring up a good point about the fruit and vegetables! All my cats have lived long lives (15 -20 yrs) with excellent veterinary care and the food I can afford to feed them. Not everyone can afford this inflated price for a 12 ounce bag! I Would rather make my own! I will not be ordering now or ever! The reason for my research is because I will be bringing home a new kitten in 4 weeks and I only want the best for my new kitten and I’m not sure this product would be the best.

In the wild, cats eat rodents and things that DO have trace amounts of fruits and vegetables in their system. That is the stated reason for them in Dr. Marty’s cat food.
I see your point about about cats not going berry picking but if you listen to Dr. Marty’s video he explains that cats in the wild do get a small amount of fruits and veggies from what is in the stomach of their prey. So Dr. Marty’s food does mimic what cats in the wild would eat.
I agree. I taste my cats’s food. This food is grainy and tastes terrible. Not a single one of my six cats will eat it. I’m sorely disappointed in a cat food that is marketed on the premise that it helps cats to live 24 years when my cats won’t eat it at all.
I am a fur mommy to 4 amazing cats that are ages 2 yrs, 5 yrs, 5 yrs and 16 yrs old. I am trying my best to feed them the best that I can. Thankfully they are all in good health. Hi, I’m trying to wrap my head around the prices – so if my cat weighs 7 lbs, you’re saying she should have 3/4 of a cup per day, which is 12 oz. So, then one bag of Natures Feast is $35 on sale for a new customer, but regularly $60 for 12 oz? If that’s true, then this food is $60 for ONE MEAL? Please tell me my math is wrong.
You’re confusing weight with volume. 12 Oz refers to net weight… 3/4 cup is a volume measurement prepared wet.
I purchased Nature’s Feast after the company selling raw food closed and left me in limbo. My cat does not eat anything except that raw food. I have tried several other raw foods and he would not eat them. He does not eat table food or treats, it was just that one raw food. After watching the entire video on Dr. Marty I was excited to try it. When I finally received it, I opened it up and followed the instructions exactly. I did not like the smell and when I tried to mash it with a fork, it was very crunchy and did not get all that soft. My cat smelled it and would not try it. I tried mixing it with canned food, he would not try it. I did this for a few weeks, and he would not eat it. I took him to the vet as requested by those that work at Dr. Marty’s, and was told to feed him anything he would eat, his weight loss was too great. I then emailed and told Dr. Marty that I needed to return the product. He DID NOT give me a 100% money back! It cost me $32 in shipping fees, which is ridiculous, you know they don’t spend that much when they ship out, and then they kept another $30! That’s $62 for a 100% satisfaction money back guarantee, plus over $300 in vet bills!!! I am still waiting to hear back from them as to why I was not refunded the total amount of the 100% money back guarantee! Maybe it is a scam! I will be contacting my credit card next.

Hi everyone,just to let you know my mother purchased I believe about 135.00 dollars worth and her cat would not touch it and to make matters worse she tried to feed it to the stray cats that she leaves dry food out for and they would not touch it. So she gave it to my sister and her outdoor cats would not touch it so she brought it back to moms and I said I was going to give it a try and I have one indoor cat that will eat anything and he stuck his nose up at it…. so I would not recommend ! My 10 year old cat who weighs 7 1/2 lbs will not touch the food when I mix it with warm water and his dry food. So next day I smashed it up and put it in his dry kibble food. He threw up FOUR times. I ordered this food few months ago. We have 4 cats, two of whom are hearty eaters and the other two picky. I followed the instructions and introduced in small quantities at first to get the cats aquatinted with it. The first time they walked away from it, next time, they ate some until eventually they were actually eating it, still mixed with other cat food though. I mixed the Dr Marty food with warm water as per the instructions and it really does emit a nauseous smell. I also figured out it’s easier to blend if you smash/grind it while it’s still dry, before you mix it with the water. My one suspicion was seeing bits that looked like pieces of feathers while I was smashing it… With the price tag so high and not completely sure if it really is as good as it is claimed to be, I gave up on it and switched back to the Blue buffalo dry and wet food. Problem is, I read multiple scary reviews on the blue buffalo food with claims it caused kitties to die; same with the next “top tier” cat food Acana! So now I’m back to considering Dr. Marty’s. I really don’t feel I have the expertise to cook my cats a nutritionally complete food myself, regardless how much I research the matter. It’s not as simple as it sounds really

Miryana – I have used Blue Buffalo for my cats and dogs almost since the beginning of their existence. I started having some problems with my cat’s health (and my dog’s) and happened upon the Dr. Marty video. I have recently heard some info about various premium pet food companies being sold, and the buyer not upholding the standards of the previous brand. That scared me and thinking the Dr. Marty’s is totally under his control, maybe that problem won’t exist, at least not now.
I have two male cats who have had no issues since trying it for last two months. Price is a little higher but if it helps to extend a healthy life i am happy
After listening to Dr. Marty’s presentation on Internet, I recently ordered and received 10 /12oz bags of Nature’s Feast freeze dried cat food. 6@$26.95 ea and 4 @$31.95 ea. I have 8 healthy cats of diff. ages. I tried first serving a few cats with water added. Some ate part of it. None loved it. Some ate a few pieces dry like treats. The best luck I had was adding 6-7 pieces to their normal pate food, heated a bit in microwave. They finished it all. One cat that refuses all wet food, ate several dry pieces. I’m keeping 4 bags and sending back 6 because of high cost. I feel sure it’s good for them if they will eat it. Warming slightly with water might improve taste! I’m also going to try Royal Canin, Chewy’s, and other freeze dried that may be less expensive, and possibly tastier.

I just want to add my 2 cents here. I ordered the cat food (Dr. Marty’s) and my cat had nothing to do with it. I read the enclosed info and continued to try it. She prefers dry food, so I started giving it to her dry with plenty of water available, as advised. I eventually mixed some of her old dry food with it just so she would not starve. I almost gave up. At 10 days, she started eating it. RAVENOUSLY. The info said cats who were used to dry food can get “addicted” to the carbs in it. I think that was the case with my cat as well. She used to always leave half her food – for later? But not anymore. Now that she has been eating the Dr. Marty’s, she wakes me up to feed her in the morning and she is excited for dinner time. She has become much more social and lovable. She is tolerant and playful. The affect on her is quite noticeable. Her health is fabulous. She has been on this food for about 4 months now. Oh, and if you prepare this right, you don’t use so much like some are suggesting. I give my cat (12 lbs) a heaping quarter cup (dry) in the morning, and the same at night. Mixed as directed with 1/2 the amount of water. I don’t crush it, just let it soak. It is plenty and the 12 oz bag lasts a couple of weeks. I figure it will be worth the cost with the savings in vet bills. I’m so glad I kept trying.

You give your cat 2 oz morning and 2 oz night, so 4 ounces dry each day.
If you buy the 96-ounce bag, it works out to $2.49 per ounce x 4 ounces = $9.96 a day to feed one cat. So at the end of one year, your cat has eaten $3,635 worth of food. That’s more expensive than what I feed myself. You just talked me into taking the time to make my own cat food.
Important Questions to Consider When Purchasing ANY PET FOOD:
How long has (Dr. Marty’s Raw Cat food) this brand been on the market? Where are the animals ingredients (for Dr. Marty’s) from? Inhumane Animal Factory Farms? Or hopefully Pasture Raised-Pasture Prepared!
All PET FOOD should be at the very minimum be at least as good as for HUNAN consumption. Dr. Marty must consider substantiating the higher price, otherwise we are getting ripped off! Pet Food Companies pay a minuscule amount for sick, Antibiotic overloaded tortures FACTORY FARMED animals- the pet food industry is notoriously guilty of using rotten animal parts via a grinder-the contents are despicable and Inhumane to feed our beloved pets!
So WHERE IS DR. MARTY’s PET FOOD INGREDIENTS SPECIFICALLY DERIVED FROM?
I have 6 cats that are my loves. How much of Dr. Marty’s Nature’s feast would i need to buy to last a month. I currently feed them 3 cans of Fancy Feast (different flavors) and they have Purina Natural dry cat food per day. I do give them treats of Temptations, Greenies and Friskies Party Mix. I have always felt and knew that the can and dry food i give my cats is made with all the left overs. I don’t have time to cook or prepare each meal. I know cats in the wild eat birds, mice and a fish if they can catch one. I would like to try Dr. Marty’s food but need to know how much does a 12oz bag make.

My cat is 16 1/2 yrs old. He has been on Blue Buffalo for years. he always left about 1/2 a small can in his bowl. My vet recommended K/D science diet (recent labs show the beginning of kidney problems)I’ve tried blending it with his usual food, he won’t touch it, Once eve I tried giving him JUST the K/D, he ate about 1/4 of a 3 oz can. As a kitty he was fed Friskies. I tried that, Currently Friskies is what he will eat! I know Friskies is not good quality food but at least he’s eating! I’m looking @ Dr, Marty’s website-(saw video), I’m undecided
I ordered nature’s feast and receivedabout 10 days ago….my cat is not eating much of it……when I ordered the food, I sent an email asking whether it is safe and/or recommended for diabetic cats….I have not received a reply…..this is a serious question that should be answered quickly, honestly and completely….please respond.
